According to his nominator, Martin is an inclusive leader who makes an effort to understand his teammates, personally and professionally. “In my career I have never met a superior so open to employees who takes the time to understand them, strives to support, mentor, and turn their differences into advantages.”

Why do you believe in diversity and inclusion?

It was difficult for me to answer this question because my obvious answer is: Why not? Should we not all believe in diversity and inclusion? Are we not all different actually? Our diversity is a strength. It creates opportunities, challenges the status quo, and brings us closer as employees. It is the DNA that makes us want to take on the most interesting and challenging projects in the most unique way.

What do you think we need to do as individuals to improve inclusivity?

In my humble opinion, Hatch exemplifies inclusivity, but it falls on everyone to make sure all are given opportunities to shine and grow. Too often, some are overlooked because we don’t fit in the mold. My role is to promote a place where molds don’t exist, only merits, ideas, initiative, and creativity.

What does positive change mean to you?

It is about making a difference for others, day after day, so their success exceeds yours.

What do you think are the toughest challenges facing our clients?

We now live in a world where we can’t draw boundaries. Our customers face risks, challenges, and most importantly, unpredictability. There is no better organization than Hatch to provide unique solutions to unique challenges. To do so, we rely on our diversity, transformed as a strength; we can reach out to anyone within Hatch and bring the best and brightest to help in ways we never thought could be possible.

What are you most proud of?

Giving and empowering those I work with so they can achieve their goals.

What do you like most about working at Hatch? How do you think the Hatch culture is different from other companies?

I find myself at home in Hatch because the organization prides itself on having a flat organization where we can reach out to anyone, regardless of title, to talk, seek advice, and solve problems. It is a strength because we create so much spontaneously with the right mindset and the right attitude.
