World's Greatest Shave
Right now, more than 110,000 Australians are living with blood cancer or related disorders. Blood cancer is the leading cause of death by cancer in the country.
This March, Hatch’s Brisbane office rallied together to support the Leukaemia Foundation and their six heroes who joined the mission to conquer blood cancer by getting sponsored to shave or color their hair for the World’s Greatest Shave.
Four of the extraordinary participants shaved their hair, two of the female participants showing their courage and shaving off their long locks, whilst another rocked a new purple hairdo. The participants channeled their inner superhero and were supported all the way by their proud families, friends, and colleagues who donated to the very worthy cause.
The World’s Greatest Shave is a very important event as it raises funds to shape the future of Australians living with blood cancer, providing families affected with the emotional and practical support they need. More than 2 million Aussies have taken part over the past two decades, with an estimated 37,500 kilograms of hair removed
This year, Brisbane’s Hatch team raised over A$12,000 in donations. the fundraising efforts were generously matched by Hatch bringing their total to A$22, 525.53. This year’s participants took on a worthy and brave challenge, all affirming it was wonderful to see the Hatch community come together for such a worthwhile cause.
“It was so awesome to feel the overwhelming support of Hatch and my colleagues, from their donations to their cheers as I shaved my hair,”said Genna England, one of our fundraisers who raised a whopping A$4000.
All funds raised throughout Hatch’s Greatest Shave will go towards the Leukaemia Foundation.
