Hatch supports innovators and entrepreneurs with investment in Niagara Falls makerspace
This new collaboration between Hatch and NFRIH is the result of a common desire to encourage innovation and meet the need of entrepreneurs across Niagara Falls and the region who are seeking a space to bring their ideas to life.
The 1,500 square foot state-of-the-art makerspace consists of 3D printers, an industrial CNC machine, a laser cutter, a virtual reality system, a wood-working station, and power tools. It also includes drill presses and six identical workstations that can be used for assembly or soldering.
This makerspace will also be home to the region’s first-ever science, technology, engineering and fitness (STEF) summer camps, which will provide youth with the opportunity to explore these fields while ensuring that health and wellness are considered.
“Hatch is committed to helping our communities thrive through positive change,” says Kathleen Vukovics, Niagara Falls operations manager for Hatch. “Hatch is enormously proud to support the makerspace. We are especially excited to encourage the children of Niagara Falls to find their love for science, technology, engineering, and fitness at the camps.”
