Michael Schatz
Global Managing Director, Infrastructure
Hatch’s global managing director for infrastructure is also a member of the firm’s board of directors. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the development and implementation of major infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients in the transportation, urban environment, water, energy, and resource markets.
With a background in management consulting, engineering, and project management, Michael delivers distinct insight, broad perspectives, and a solid understanding of the commercial, technical, social, and environmental considerations that are required for creating and implementing successful business outcomes and project solutions.
He has had leadership roles with client projects in each of Hatch’s metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors, and with assignments based in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, and Australia. He also maintains an active role within the industry and with projects, serving as the firm’s project director for many high-profile ventures.
Michael is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with an HBASc degree in Civil Engineering, and of the University of Western Ontario with a Masters of Business Administration. He is a professional engineer and a certified management consultant.
