Guest: Rafael Davila - Global Director, Tailings & Mine ClosureRafael has worked in consultancy for the mining sector for about 30 years and is knowledgeable in the environmental and geotechnical conditions that mining projects encounter in locations ranging from the Andean Cordillera, the Mexican Sierras, the Russian tundra, to the Brazilian and Canadian Precambrian shields. He has actively participated in the study and design of tailings deposits, heap leach facilities, and mine waste rock storage facilities. This work has included site selections, subsurface investigations, deposition planning, mine water management, construction quality control and assurance, operation, remediation, and closure of facilities associated with first-class mining projects and operations in the Americas, Europe, and Russia.
