Hatch earns bronze partner status in CN's EcoConnexions Program for sustainability efforts
Toronto, Canada – Hatch is proud to announce its recognition as a bronze partner in Canadian National’s (CN) prestigious EcoConnexions Partnership Program. This honor highlights Hatch’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and its efforts to drive meaningful environmental change.
CN, a leader in sustainable business practices, has recognized 73 of its customers, suppliers, and supply chain partners for their dedication to building a more sustainable future. The EcoConnexions Partnership Program celebrates businesses that support climate action, reduce environmental impact, promote biodiversity, and implement ethical business practices.
"We are honored to be recognized by CN as a partner in sustainability," said Peter Duinker, Hatch’s regional director for rail in eastern Canada. "This acknowledgment underscores our commitment to leveraging our technical and business expertise to develop innovative rail solutions that combat climate change and promote a sustainable future."
Hatch’s sustainability initiatives are rooted in a scientific, evidence-based approach aimed at achieving two primary goals: reducing the release and presence of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and adapting built and natural environments to the impacts of climate change.
As we look to the future, we remain focused on protecting the environment and the people we serve by developing and supporting innovative technologies and strategies that strike an appropriate balance between progress and sustainability. It is our sincere desire to promote sustainability by reducing carbon emissions, developing clean, renewable energy, improving Indigenous engagement, and advancing environmental and social due diligence.
"We are proud to work with partners who share our vision and commitment to building a sustainable future. Sustainability is a journey that requires collaboration across the entire supply chain. Together, we are working to drive meaningful change, and this program is an example of our progress," shared Remi G. Lalonde, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer, CN
In recognition of the achievements and commitment of its partners, CN is planting 100,000 trees in partnership with Tree Canada. This initiative further emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices and the collective effort required to protect our environment.
