Pursuing a sustainable future: Hatch named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for fifth consecutive year
Mississauga, Canada—Just in time for Earth Day, Hatch employees throughout Canada are celebrating Hatch having been named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for the fifth consecutive year by the editors of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, Mediacorp Canada Inc.
Hatch’s corporate vision is to create a better world through positive change. We see no greater opportunity to do so than through the pursuit of a future shaped by a sustainable global society. In response to the environmental and sustainability issues impacting our global community, Hatch has published a Statement on Climate Change, which outlines how we aspire to solve some of these global challenges.
That’s why recognition as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers means so much to us. We strive to be a participating leader, continuing to support our clients in the metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors, as they seek sustainable development in their businesses in the face of climate change, ultimately assisting them in transitioning to a much lower carbon footprint. Operating our own business sustainably helps to achieve our climate change goals. This means running a safe, efficient, and socially and professionally responsible business that is profitable. An important aspiration is to transition to net-zero carbon emissions in running our business by 2030.
“As ‘entrepreneurs with a technical soul’ actively participating in the metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors, we are uniquely positioned, and obligated, to affect positive change on this issue of climate change as it is amongst the toughest challenges of our era. Our work begins in our own home, ensuring that our Hatch operations are sustainable. We are thankful to Mediacorp and the Top 100 Employers program for recognizing our commitment and effort to run a sustainable business by naming us one of Canada’s Greenest Employers,” said John Bianchini, Hatch’s chairman and CEO.
Canada’s Greenest Employers is an editorial competition recognizing employers leading the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness. Winning employers are selected using four main criteria: (1) unique environmental initiatives or programs they have developed; (2) whether they have been successful in reducing their own environmental footprint; (3) whether their employees are involved in these programs and contribute unique skills; and (4) whether their environmental initiatives have become linked to the employer's public identity, attracting new employees or customers.
